Hi, I’m Wendy — the founder of The Fresh Green Bag. I started this business back in 2003 with a simple goal: to create beautiful, reusable shopping bags that help people move away from single-use plastics. Before starting my own business, I spent many years as a designer — first with Davenport, and later with Bonds, where I was lucky enough to design the volunteer uniforms for the Sydney Olympic Games. That experience was a real highlight in my design career and gave me a deep appreciation for thoughtful, practical design. The idea for The Fresh Green Bag began with a chat at my local greengrocer. Michael, the owner, was concerned about the growing problem of plastic waste and wanted a better alternative. With my background in textiles, I knew I could help — and after creating 100 calico bags for his store, my business was born! |
Today, The Fresh Green Bag continues to offer stylish, sustainable alternatives to single-use plastic bags. From hessian and jute to cotton, calico, canvas, and tote bags, we have something for everyone — whether you’re after one bag or one thousand.
We work only with suppliers who follow ethical and sustainable practices, ensuring fair wages and high quality. All our standard bags are stored right here in Sydney, allowing us to offer fast, reliable shipping.
We’re always expanding our range with fresh, eco-friendly designs — and we can even create custom bags for wholesale or promotional needs.
